With the festivities in full swing, I was inspired by a well-loved film called ‘Chicken Run’. For those of you who haven’t seen this film, basically, it’s about a group of chickens who build an aeroplane to escape being made into chicken pie. It’s filled with lots of laughter and the overriding theme of team work and love which is what we really like here at Zest and Fresh.
With the theme of veganism really prominent at the moment, I wanted to take a moment to think about what it truly means to be vegan…Should we as vegans be persecuted for an active choice we make to not eat meat? Lately, my choices have caused some debate (and at times heated debates) about whether or not I should follow a vegan diet. Likewise, you wouldn’t actively choose to persecute a Christian would you? So to me, veganism is the same thing. Essentially, it’s a conscious decision to opt out of ‘following the norm’ and asking oneself why?
Why choose to eat meat? Is it a love? Is it a habit? (more on the difference between these coming soon!) or is it just a culturally accepted thing to do? So I hear you ask, what has this got to do with liberty and free will? Well, essentially, we all have the option to choose and the power to change what is socially and culturally accepted. Let’s work together as a team to make it a #zestquest to be the difference!
Happy Beautiful Day,
CEO Zest and Fresh ltd.
